Attending Easter Vigil Saturday? We welcome your help for about 15 minutes following the conclusion of our services as we turn over the Narthex in preparations for Easter Sunday Masses.  We will be arranging seating in the Narthex and around the back of the worship area, if you are able to un-stack, lift and arrange chairs, please stay to help!  Thank you!
On February 22nd, 1931, Sister Maria Faustina had a vision of Jesus while she was in Plock, Poland. Jesus appeared to her in her cell and said, "paint an image according to the pattern you see with the signature: Jesus I trust in you.” “I want this image to be solemnly blessed on the first Sunday after Easter; that Sunday is to be the Feast of Mercy”  (Diary 49)  In addition to the image, Sr. Faustina received words of prayer to be recited on the beads of her rosary.  These prayers became the Chaplet of Divine Mercy, and the devotion has quickly become one of the most popular in the world.
On Good Friday we begin a 9 day prayer of the Chaplet of Divine Mercy.

      Prayer of Discipleship
      Loving God,
I thank you for choosing me to be your disciple
and for the gift of your Son, Jesus.
Help me proclaim and bear witness to the Gospel
      by word and deed,
      today and every day.
      Open my heart to
      the outcast, the forgotten,
the lonely, the sick, the poor.
      Grant me the courage
to think, to choose, and to live as a Christian,
      joyfully obedient to God.
      Amen
We are reading this prayer following Communion at each weekend Mass throughout Lent 2014.
